Coaches and Selectors for 2019-20 season
There are key changes to the selection and coaching of QCSA West Zone players in the 2019-20 season. Each selector is required to hold or be completing a AFC/FFA Coaching Licence (Advanced Coaching Pathway). Each coach is strongly encouraged to hold or be working towards gaining at least AFC/FFA or QCSA Community Coaching Accreditation.
Coaches will be assisted by the zone committee to develop a comprehensive coaching curriculum for their training squad/competition team that incorporates the FFA National Football Curriculum and technical components of the FFA Building Blocks relevant to each age group.
Training squad selectors for 2019-20
Stephen Arulogun: AFC/FFA Senior C Licence, AFC/FFA Level 1 Goalkeeping Licence.
Richard Katt: AFC/FFA Junior Football Lience, AFC/FFA Youth Football Certificate 1.
Len Manwaring: AFC/FFA Senior C Licence, AFC/FFA Junior C Licence.
Neale Smith: AFC/FFA Youth C Licence, QCSA Director of Coaching (selection reviews).
Training squad coaches for 2019-20
U10: Harry Lax has experience coaching at Raceview Congregational Soccer Club and is the head coach for Walloon State School junior and senior teams.
U11: Shaun McDonagh has coached at both zone and club level with 4 years experience at St Catherines United Football Club and 1 year experience at QCSA West Zone.
U12: Stephen Arulogun has experience with both FFA and QCSA clubs. Stephen's coaching experience includes 2 years with QCSA West Zone, 4 years with St Catherines United Football Club and National Premier League (NPL) level coaching with Western Pride Football Club. Stephen is assisted by Jonathan "Loui" Robaina who is currently coaching at Raceview Congregational Soccer Club.
U13/U14 Boys: There is no coach currently appointed. The coach will be assisted by Bennett Christensen who has coaching experience with Raceview Congregational Soccer Club and is working towards completing his QCSA Community Coaching Accreditation.
U16 Boys: Richard Katt has coaching experience with Blackstone United Dragons with 10 years at the club. Richard has also coached QCSA West Zone teams for 8 years.
U16 Girls: Zoe Surawski has experience coaching with both FFA and QCSA clubs. Zoe has coached at Whitehill Football Club for 3 years. Zoe has experience playing at a high level and has represented Queensland at the CFFA National Titles.
U18 Boys: Len Manwaring has coaching experience with both FFA and QCSA clubs. Len's coaching experience includes 2 years with QCSA West Zone, 7 years with Blackstone United Dragons and National Premier League (NPL) level coaching with Western Pride Football Club.
SDP: Stephen Arulogun is the SDP coach. Stephen is assisted by Harry Lax who is the current QCSA West Zone U10 coach.
Goalkeeper coach: Stephen Arulogun is the QCSA West Zone goalkeeper coach. Stephen is currently the goalkeeper coach for Western Pride Football Club and has undertaken specialist training as part of the AFC/FFA Level 1 Goalkeeping Licence.
